Once I had a dream so crystal clear it washed my dream-filled crystal eyes bright blue. Once I had a dream about another and of walking shores on white-washed sand - so far. And over hills of pure bright green and under halls of deep red stone and through the heart of all there is we went. But by sunlight, crystals turn ashen; the touch of your hand slips like sand. But through work-hours and play-times and realistic views I’ll be fine. I will through all my days I will through all my hours scratch your words into stone-slabs and deeds into bone in my mind.

Men in a mediocre bar eating mediocre cake sipping mildly tasty beer singing ‘clark is dead’ in their heads. Mother knew this even when they took me away seven dollars is no crime seven years is a sin. Marry me every time I say this she looks away and smiles she is never the same woman afterwards. I told them everything, and normally, that’s not a wise choice to make. If you lay everything you have inside, lay your heart, your thoughts, your personality out in front of someone you don’t know, that alone will force them to think you’re insane, even if they asked you to. But well, I can’t blame them. They got me where I wanted to be. They kept me locked up for the first two days, but I didn’t act strange, so they let me out and told me where to get food, where to sleep, where to meet others ‘like me’. One evening, the shell was back, and he wondered how he'd ever forgotten it. Conveniently, it wrapped around him, warming, protecting, covering. Suddenly, he noticed that his world was changing: Besides him and the world, there was now a grey zone, a borderline. Mental peacekeepers had erected a barrier, the flow of information was slowed down, sorted, cleaned of doubtable subjects. He did no longer have to fill out the world. Did not have to know everything. Did not want to know everything. He had to fill out a custom-made shell, and that was something he'd achieve. A cupboard full of dreams is all that’s left in my kitchen. You took sugar, salt and spice and left me monsters, castles and knights to cook our meals with. Can’t you see this isn’t enough? You say you’ll be paid some day, and till then, we’ll survive, somehow. But the cupboard is empty to all but us, and to me, its contents are fading. You built good dreams they lasted longer than all the others. What kind of preservatives did you use? I bet it was sugar and lemon and love. You knew that this way, I’d never get enough.
