would I go salmon fishing?
In Canada;
see the Yukon
and the place with those glaring red leaves?
If I could pause you
and pause myself too
would I swim the Pacific
where it’s warm?
Or would I just sit
and inhale
and stare
and forget what I wanted to do
like I always.
If I could pause my heartbeat
would I travel to hidden scenes
far from the safety of bed-sides
and ovens
and once-to-be cats;
would I dare or would I just
stare?
